2010/11 Registration

Registration Fees have been set for the 2010 – 2011 Season.

As a result of the increased insurance fess, increased ice fees & the addition of the HST applied directly to our ice costs, Southpoint Minor Hockey has been forced to increase our registration fees for the first time in over 4 years. The new fees are as follows:

Early registration takes place from March 1/10 to July 31/10

Regular registration takes effect August 1/10

     Mites    - $460 standard
     (2004/2005/2006)

     Tykes to Midget - $560 by July 31/10
     (2003 – 1993) - $610 effective Aug 1/10

     Juvenile - $460 by July 31/10
    (1992/1991/1990) - $510 effective Aug 1/10
    Note: this division will run only if registered numbers allow for a team this year

Did you know??
1) We will have an in-house registration session in the Minor Hockey Board Room on Wind-up day.
2) We will have monthly in-house registration sessions – more dates to be announced later.
3) You may register your child on-line at any time & make multiple payments.
4) Your final payment MUST be received BEFORE the player is allowed on the ice.
5) Travel tryouts will be held again in June this year for Novice through Bantam divisions,
     as well as for the girls Midget division.
This means any player wishing to tryout MUST be PAID IN FULL PRIOR to the first tryout.
6) Midget tryouts will be held in August again.
7) One set of tryouts will be held for each divsion.

She will return your call as soon as possible. Please keep in mind that she does work full time outside of volunteering for Southpoint Minor Hockey.

*** Please note that as we are a non-profit organization, we are not charging you any tax on your registration. The HST has been added to our ice costs, and as a result we have had to increase the registration fees to help offset this increase.

Epp, Kenneth Karl 47 years, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Beloved husband of Joan (Dick). Loving father of Kevin, Elyse and Jessica. Dear son of Marie and Peter Epp and son-in-law of Elizabeth and Herm Dick. Dear brother of Susan Epp, Dan Epp, Ron and Kathy Epp, Edwin and Jodi Epp and brother-in-law of Diane and Ron Froese, Dennis and Vicki Dick, Phil and Wendy Dick, Greg and Susan Dick, Bob and Janet Dick, Dave and Vickie Dick. Ken will be missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. It is with great sadness that Ken has left us. He has touched all of our hearts and will always be remembered as a loving family man and true gentleman. Ken grew up on a farm in Blytheswood and attended Blytheswood Public School. In his teens he gladly attended UMEI where he excelled in academics, music, and sports.After School, he went on to the University of Guelph where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. When he completed his education, Ken followed his passion and began farming. He worked along side of his father Peter and his brothers Ron and Ed. This became known as 4E Farms. Along with farming, Ken devoted much of his time to his other passion, volunteerism. His service work included board director for UMEI, committee work for North Leamington United Mennonite Church, president of Southpoint Minor Hockey, and currently held the position of vice-chairman of OPVGA. Among his many passions was his love of music and singing in small groups and choirs, farming, sports (hockey, baseball, and golf). He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Closest to his heart was spending time with his family. Ken was gentle, compassionate, and patient. He was a peace maker and a firm and honest communicator. All who knew him loved him. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) on Thursday 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate Ken’s life at the North Leamington United Mennonite Church, Mersea Road 6 on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. Rev. Paul Warkentin and Rev. Bruce Wiebe officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Leamington. Memorial donations may be made by cheque to the U.M.E.I. It is time to start preparing for the next season!

We are in the processing of setting the fees for the 2010 - 2011 Season. We will have the registration set up & ready to go as soon as we can.

We are aiming for March 1, 2010.Please check back soon.

Please remember that we cannot have teams if we do not have coaches!! We will be looking for coaches shortly so please get your coaching staff in place & watch for the coaches applications to become available!
